With an average temperature of 13.8 °C and total rainfall of 446 mm, 2006 was hotter and drier than the average for the last four years. Flowering began early and took place in fine weather between the 25th of May and the 11th of June. Excellent conditions prevailed during the harvest, giving very high quality grapes and polyphenols at optimum maturity.
A relatively cold winter was followed by a mild spring. Budbreak began on the 28th of March for the earliest Merlots and ended on the 16th of April for the Cabernet Sauvignons, the usual dates for the Domaine.
The summer was hot, particularly during July, when the temperature rose above 35 °C on eight days.
Veraison began on the 30th of July and ended on the 15th of August.
