Tasting notes
A crystalline aspect with a golden tint.
The seductive and delicate nose initially reveals mineral notes, then fills out on a fruitier register with aromas of vine peach, verbena and orange blossom.
The attack is clean, powerful and harmonious, propelled by a minty freshness.
The nicely balanced mid-palate reveals a creamy smooth, fresh and powerful body. A delicious echo of orchard fruit and orange peel rounds off a pleasantly long finish
There was no shortage of rainfall in 2009 (605 mm over the year), which was also warmer than the average for the last six years.
A cold and wet winter ended with a relatively warm month of March, with average temperatures 0.4 °C higher than normal.
Budbreak on the Chardonnay vines came a week earlier than usual and occurred rapidly, from the 19th to the 22nd of March.
A cool and wet April was followed by a warm and dry May.
Summer temperatures were high, especially in August, with an average temperature of 22.9 °C, and there was little rainfall.
Veraison took place from the 25th to 30th of July.
Hot and dry weather in September quickly brought the grapes to full maturity and the Chardonnay parcels were picked a week earlier than in a normal year.
