Tasting notes
The wine has a glittering golden colour.
The nose, intense and elegant, opens on citrus fruit, pear and biscuit aromas, developing more floral notes with airing.
The clean attack quickly reveals a harmonious body that combines freshness and opulence with a mineral touch.
The nicely balanced mid-palate offers succulent echoes of citrus peel and ripe fruit.
The finish is full, long and pleasantly bright.
2010 was generally cool and wet, with annual rainfall of 650 mm. The winter was cold and rainy, with an average temperature 1.5 °C lower than normal and three snowfalls between January and March.
Budbreak on the Chardonnay vines occurred between the 28th of March and the 2nd of April, ten days later than in 2009.
Spring was cool and damp, with some snow on the 4th of May, though it did not affect the vegetation. Despite these weather conditions, flowering took place normally between the 1st and the 7th of June.
The summer was hot and dry, but there was plenty of water in the soil to nourish the vines. Veraison took place between the 1st and the 5th of August.
The Chardonnay parcels were harvested in late September, in fine weather.
